Product Description:

UnderLock is a hidden lockdown assembly for porcelain pavers installed on pedestals. Pedestal set pavers are often placed on top of wood/composite decking, concrete balconies or patios, and over waterproofed roof/plaza decks. The reinforced, composite UnderLock (US Patent No.9834893) system is factory installed on standard pavers. UnderLock prevents a broken paver from shattering, splintering, or dislodging (a common concern when using porcelain pavers), and locks all the pavers together underneath their surface. In other words, UnderLock creates a paver “raft”. The net effect is a much heavier individual paver unit, making them extremely difficult to lift.

Industry Tested:

     ANSI/FM 4474(2011) Appendix B -Modified

Result: maximum passing load: 1,260 lbf

Summary of Benefits:

     1. Safeguards against lift from wind or vandals

     2. Holds dangerously sharp fragments and shards together, should a
         paver break

     3. Prevention of paver creep or migrating over time

     4. Many sizes and styles of pavers

     5. Running bond, herringbone, or modular pattern possible

Components and Materials:

The UnderLock System uses the unique UnderLock Spacer Unit. This unit has integral spacer tabs that create  3/16” wide joints throughout the paver installation. If the installation requires raised pedestals for leveling the paver surface over sloped plazas and rooftops, the UnderLock FF Spacer Unit provides self-contained locking and will sit atop the pedestal. For installation over wood/composite decking, the UnderLock SD Spacer Unit has a simple hole in the base center to allow for a composite deck screw with a washer to pass through; securing the paver corners to the substructure.
